Dyson to open battery plant in Singapore as part of US$3.4 billion global investment plan. As part of efforts to enhance its engineering and manufacturing capabilities, technology company Dyson announced it will open a new proprietary battery plant in Singapore. The building in Tuas will be completed this year and be fully operational by 2025.
The 23,000-sq.-meter plant is being constructed in the Tuas industrial district, in southwest Singapore. Production will begin in 2024, with the plant going into full operation in 2025. The investment amount is the company's largest ever for an advanced manufacturing base, said Dyson.
The plant is part of Dyson's £2.75 billion (S$4.6 billion) five-year investment plan into future technologies. It is also part of a S$1.5 billion ongoing investment commitment in Singapore. In March last year, Dyson officially opened its new global headquarters in Singapore.
