GLC Recycle, a Singapore-based operator of a recycling facility in Laos, has agreed to supply China-based XTC New Energy with 10,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate over a three-year span.

GLC Recycle, founded in 2022, is able to process more than 15,000 metric tons of batteries per year. The company says it is looking to double its battery recycling capacity to 30,000 metric tons by the end of this year.
The facility can produce 24,000 tonnes per year of recycled nickel and cobalt hydroxide, as well as 4,500 tonnes per year of crude, recycled, lithium carbonate. The recycling facility will use black mass as raw materials. GLC Recycle plans to increase capacity up to 80,000 tonnes per year over the next five years.
